Pricing Details for Final Fantasy WiiWare Downloads

By Jorge Ba-oh 02.04.2008 9

Square Enix has revealed details for paid-downloads for the recently released Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As a King in Japan.

Downloads for additional content are stripped from the player's Wii points in the same way as downloading a VC or WiiWare title.

  • New races (Lilty, Yuke, and Selkie) - 300 points (800 for all three).
  • New buildings - 200 Wii Points. Useful for boosting stats and improving funding.
  • Costumes, bits and bobs - 100 Wii points each
  • For major updates to the game, like new races and buildings, players will need to re download their copy (for free, after updating their Wii points).

Additional downloads, according to IGN , will be available in the future - including a library to discover more in each race, an unlimited dungeon etc.

Still, the main game is $15 and you have the OPTION of not buying any DLC...

    It's designed for
    a) testing how loud S-E-fanboys cry and shout and download stuff anyway
    b) loooking how much for how many coins can be offered
    c) how much game you have to play/download for playing in a satisfactoring way
    d) how far they can go till Nintendo's download service gains too much damage for EVER being taken seriously.
d1) okay, how and why and when Nintendo's DLC can be pressed further.
They are testing after all. What Microsoft did with XBox1 and YBox-live back then they have to go through on their own. Ninty always was back on Internet, with Square Enix they press extreme business models further.

I don't know how much you need to download to play properly, so I don't complain. But 3 EUR per race... okay, that's not too shabby - for S-E.
I didn't like them helmet birds anyway. So only 600 points for me. *lol*

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Blooming heck! Ex-pen-sive, though optional. Still, pretty big chunk of Wii points needed for a race (or three).

Maybe a good idea would be to have 2 options - earn a high enough score/perform some required tasks in a game for a reduced price for extras, or buy the extras full price - giving players a sense of fulfillment if they complete something, as they can get extra content on the cheaper end.

God. Horse-Armour-gate was two years ago. There's no more room for experimenting with rip-offs.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

seems fine to me, i was expecting it to cost alot more, one wii card can satisfy all i need. When is this released in europe/australia??

I dont think anything of what they are saleing really adds more gameplay, ergo, not worth anything.

Playing as a different race or having a new costumes might effect gameplay, but not add to the total.

In fact, if what they are saleing makes stuff easier (like it sounds like for the buildings), it could well shorten the gameplay.

It isn't fine when the game doesn't even come with any extra races to begin with, nor does there seem to be a lot in the game to begin with without paying for all this stuff. It's gonna end up costing people practically a full price game just to get what you'd expect.
