The previously rumoured Mario Kart Wii has been confirmed by the folks at Nintendo's press room.

The artwork dons the two Mario Brothers trying to promote the upcoming Wii Wheel accessory that aims to bring a whole new way of zipping around the track with other Mushroom Kingdom residents...and look cool infront of your mates at the same time.

Not a very pretty box to look at.

Fail.

At the end of the day it's only a box, as long as the game is good that's all that matters.

INVISIBLE KART!11!!

Noooooooo. Smilie

It's not too bad, the Mario Kart DS box wasn't that good ethier and a bit plain.

Maybe the actual game case art will be better. Smilie

If the actual game box was the best box art ever made, then they would be forgiven.

But it'll probably be the same as this, just stretched/skewed (on MS Paint no less!) to fit to a DVD case size.

why does everyone hate this box, its extreamly similar to the MarioKart DS one. So stop your complaining!

Who care about the box, It's the game I want.

Not bad.

It's all a bit plain but it'll be ok

Very funny, it might look like that to some people.

my complaint is that the wii remote is going to have the buttons facing and the cheap ubisoft rubber wheel thing required you to press a button on the front to accelerate.
This made it impossible to hold the wheel correctly and comfortably as holding down on the face while holding the steering wheel just hurt a lot =(
I hope they havent made the same mistake, also because the wii remote isnt horizontally flat it wont work with games like excite truck (which I think have the best racing controls I have ever played)

It looks fine. It gets the point across...

I happen to like the box... And i guessed it would be that (from the topic that poped up so long ago)

I love it, minimal is the way to go. I love the shadows of the Karts and the emphasis of the new wheel. I doubt they would implement the wheel if it did not work well and the sensitivity could be altered to suit tastes. I think it's going to be great, I cannot wait!.

It looks decent to me. Like dojo said, it gets the point across, and that's what Nintendo are aiming for with a lot of their games lately.

The idea here is to promote the Wii Wheel and this box art does a good job of that.

It's the game that counts anyway, and I'm sure it'll be great.

i dont see anything wrong with the box, and i also agree that its what is on the inside that counts

This is phil. If your conciousness must absolutely intrude upon mine, leave a message.

Yeah this game will be great. I'm determined to know if Nintendo get the Wii controls right, if not back to classic pad

Some new features details have popped up:

- 12 player online
- friends or random players
- local or worldwide
- Ability to check if friends are online
- special events to participate in. These events will change over time.

Those last two are definite thumbs-up to me.Smilie

This shows that some people have too much time on their hands to complain about the BOX!!! Smilie

Anyway yeah I dont like it and it looks too plain and boring and too whiite.. its needs a bit more colour to it!!!

Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Stupid.

I like the design of the box. I think too many Nintendo game covers are too colourful and kiddy. This I think will appeal to more people in general.

Actually, I think this box is quite kiddy and colourful. But then so is the game. Mario Kart is meant to be colourful. Which is the magic of Nintendo - they get away with murder. Rare didn't get away with it with Viva Pinata - they made a game for all ages that was too complicated for kids and too kiddy for adults. But Nintendo just seem to get away with it. I mean, come on, the very idea of a Mii - a personalised avatar for use in games, screams "13 year old on Neopets" - yet they integrate them in such a way that you can actually appreciate them for being representations of yourself, and not silly, kiddy cartoon characters.

So to sum up, I agree, and disagree. And that's all.

That is disgusting, and why are they bothering with the stupid plastic bit.
