By Adam Riley 13.01.2008 3

Famitsu has now released the data for the top fifty best selling games in Japan for the entire of 2007 and Nintendo takes top honours, as expected. However, it was quite a close call between the Wii and a PSP game for the No.1 spot. Thanks to Moor-Angol of NeoGAF, games released before 2007 also have their total sales included beside the 2007 figure. Check out the numbers below:

Both Yoshi's Island and Itadaki Street have done a LOT of sales off-chart. Yoshi should make it to the million mark eventually and Square Enix should be pleased since IS has become the best selling in the long-running board game series.

Great to see Kirby: Mouse Attack finally scraping past the million as well. DS now has more million sellers than the PS2, I believe.

You call 500,000 units "close"?

Well, closer than expected, anyway! Smilie Who would have thought a PSP game could go on to sell 1.5 million and still be climbing up towards the Top 10 weekly chart during the festive period?

Mario vs. DK 2 has done amazing compared to the GBA version and WarioWare Wii has been a slow burner, but accrued massive sales compared to its relatively slow start last year. Mojipittan DS is another shocker and bodes well for BanNam's WiiWare version that hits in March!
