A Coin-Operated GameCube? You'd Better Believe It! C3 recently discovered an interesting piece of news regarding a development of the GameCube variety over in South Korea. Apparently a computer company from over there, by the name of Logix, has been in discussion with Nintendo and its primary South Korean distributor about the possibility of manufacturing and placing coin-operated GameCube arcade cabinets around the country. The arcade machines actually launched a couple of days ago on the 28th July, although it is only now that wind of the news is caught. The cabinets are not solely reserved for arcade gaming establishments, but various other different types of stores that wish to partake in the scheme. The company, Logix, is taking quite a large risk as it provides free installation and full-time servicing as an incentive for taking the machines on. Initially the cabinets will only support Super Mario Sunshine, but once the scheme has passed the infancy stage, further titles will be tested. Nintendo is hoping that this will kick-start the lagging GameCube sales that are present over in South Korea. Details regarding Memory Card saves, link-ups to the home consoles, prices of each play and whether there are any aesthetic improvements to the games available are currently unknown. As soon as more details become available, you can be sure we'll be on the case. Make sure you keep it here as usual! For now, check out the picture of the cabinet below: Source Video Game Chosun Please Post Your Comments Below!
