Quick News - Speaking in a new interview, Koji Igarashi of Castlevania stated that rather than just stick with 2D, he definitely wants to take the series back into the realm of 3D since he does not "like to lose in 3D". Hopefully the next entry will fare better than past attempts!

Personally, 2D all the way. Retaining the quality of DoS, PoR and AoS, who could complain? But than I would love to see a good attempt at a 3D one, I never liked the ones on N64 and PS2.

Agreed! Perhaps high-res, good quality 2D sprites/backgrounds? Or some good 3D work in a 2D plane.

He said a couple years back: "Personally speaking, I'd jump at any chance to develop a 2D game for any console, or even the PSP, but those chances are getting fewer and fewer. I feel like the DS is the last fortress of 2D gaming."

Would be a shame to see the series move away from 2D, perhaps WiiWare/Live would be a good platform for some new 2D outings?

I don't see why no one likes 3d castlvania games... I personaly have Curse of Darkness and I thought it was excellent.
