The latest edition of the Resident Evil series is set to hit Europe at the end of this month. Following the massive success of the Wii remake of Resident Evil 4, Capcom and Nintendo are about to unleash The Umbrella Chronicles. Players will find themselves immersed into a tense fight to stay alive as they take on the sinister Umbrella Corporation in The Umbrella Chronicles, which features classic and never before seen locations to play through. Players will gain a complete picture of the Umbrella Corporation as they unlock new areas and complete side-missions that allow them to view the story from different character perspectives. Also compatible with Nintendo's new peripheral, the Wii Zapper, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles will provide an all-new Resident Evil and Wii experience when it launches on 30th November 2007.
Unlike its predecessors, this game is not a third-person action-adventure game, but instead a first-person shooter that will test your trigger finger. What is more, for added immersion, the game is fully compatible with the new Wii Zapper. The adventure spans the entire Resident Evil series, giving new insights into the events of the previous games as well as taking players to all-new locations like Umbrella's headquarters, where the evil corporation will finally be put to a stop. Fans of previous titles will be able to discover the back story behind many of the titles they have previously played and be reunited with familiar faces like Rebecca Chambers, Billy Coen, Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira, Ada Wong, and the mysterious Albert Wesker.
There are a total of four scenarios in this game, based around the train derailment, mansion incident, destruction of Raccoon City and the final demise of Umbrella. Each of these chapters contains three sub-levels, each with a choice of two characters to play as. The different characters available each have unique abilities, as well as strengths and weaknesses, making playing as each of them a totally different experience. There are also multiple bonus levels to unlock in each scenario, providing an all-new challenge.
The Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers give players greater accuracy than ever before. By using the Wii Remote pointer to move the on-screen cursor the player is able to quickly target and take down enemies with pinpoint accuracy. Additionally, locations in the game feature interactive objects and backgrounds, allowing players to trigger actions and reveal secrets by shooting specific items.
