There are many reasons, one of which is that sports games are almost always released on time and ready for the season. We gamers expect new features to show up each and every year pushing the developers to work even harder. With the addition of more and more adults getting into gaming there are huge influxes of hardcore sports fans ready to be entertained.

On the PC side of things sports games have been doing terrible accounting for a minute 4.9 percent of game sales last year. Online gaming has become a dominating trend on PC’s and it seems online sports games haven’t been catching on as quick. The explanation leans towards the idea that sports games are better played together with a group of friends rather online.

So, with more than a few signs that the pendulum of popularity is swinging towards games in the sports and racing genre need Nintendo worry?
