Nintendo Media | LEGO Indiana Jones Unveiled!

By Phil Beveridge 28.07.2007 17

With LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga coming to DS and Wii this Autumn being the final game that could be made about the franchise, it looked like we wouldn't be seeing any more LEGO fun from Lucasarts for a while. But now it seems they've started developing on the other major Lucasarts franchise with the announcement of LEGO Indiana Jones: The Videogame (Working Title).

Developed by the same team at Traveller's Tales that created the LEGO Star Wars series, LEGO Indiana Jones presents a tongue-in-cheek take on the first three cinematic adventures of pop culture's most iconic archaeologist, including Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

"LucasArts and TT Games are setting the bar for next-generation family entertainment with the LEGO Star Wars franchise, and our incredible relationship continues with LEGO Indiana Jones," said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. "In addition to providing the quality bonding time inspired by any good family game, LEGO Indiana Jones delivers something a little different for everyone. Parents will enjoy the humorous take on some of their favorite movies, and their kids get some rousing action/adventure gameplay that may also introduce them to Indy's original adventures for the first time."

"It has been a real joy to work with LucasArts on the LEGO Star Wars games. Indiana Jones is the perfect character for the next LEGO-based videogame adventure," said Tom Stone, director at TT Games. "Indy also presents us with wonderful and memorable cinematic moments. The boulder scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark in LEGO is hilarious!"

Although no exact technical details of the game have been announced yet, by looking at past releases it seems a safe bet that this will find its way onto Nintendo systems by mid-2008. In the meantime, this trailer should wet your appetites for more brick-breaking action. Don't forget to stick with Cubed3 for all the latest information and updates about the game!

lol, can't wait for this...loved the bit with the duck ;oD

Being a fan of the Lego Star Wars, I definitely have high hopes for this.

I think it looks effing sweet. I enjoyed the past two games, and I'll be getting the compilation version this year Smilie

Isn't there a BATMAN lego confirmed as well?

Where the hell is my LEGO zelda? Anywho does not look bad at all.

Looks awesome, I can't wait to see Sean Connery in Lego Smilie

This looks great, I'll be getting it I think. I still really need to pick up the Star Wars ones sometime. I'm waiting for the complete sage since I've waited this long, unless I found out the controls aren't as good as the seperater version on GC.

This is to cash-in on the fourth film being released next year. I don't know about you chaps, but I fucking love Indiana Jones. I personally think it's way better than Star Wars (silly futuristic space stuff has always seemed a bit gay to me). Indy's such a fucking legend. Can't wait for the fourth film. It'd better not be crap.

Star wars has been done to death, whored out more than mario it has, so an indiana jones game is sounding good.

I didn't mean the games, I meant in general. Star Wars is alright in a silly sort of way, bit Indiana Jones is fucking cool. He has great one-liners, drinks whiskey, fights with his fists, and treats women like shit. What more could you want in a film? It's got better characters than Star Wars, it's got a better story than Star Wars, it's got a better setting than Star Wars, the dialogue is much better than Star Wars, and it's nowhere near as daft as Star Wars. It's miles better than Star Wars ever was, really.

EDIT: And his dad is Sean Connery, for fuck sake.

all the lego games seem boring...lego star wars was not that great b/c at that time battlefront was also out..

You play the LEGO Star Wars games to see the cutscenes. The actual game is fun but not all the best... I think.
I have LSW - the Complete Saga to prove me wrong... Love the humour of the LEGO games! That's because I think this is good news!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Yeah but I am bored of the franchise, movies, toys, the games, everything about it, seriously if i have to listen to the imperial march, the same star wars laser effects or look at the stupid star wars font again I will go nuts.
My younger bro buys anything starwars even the shit stuff, thats the main reason why I am sick of it.

This is excellent news, I love the films and have the collection on DVD. The game looks like a fun one, I cannot wait to get this now along with the StarWars collection now. Great hommage to the films in that trailer also. {LS]

I'm just sick of it because it's a bit pants. I never saw what all the fuss was about. I enjoyed the films moderately when I watched them. They are good films, and that's all they are. But, watching them over-and-over again year after year? I can't understand that. They aren't works of genius. We're not talking Dr. Strangelove, or Citizen Kane, or whatever, here.

The whole thing is just ridiculous, and could never happen. There are no sounds in space, so you'd never hear the lasers and explosions on the Death Star battle, etc. Lasers don't even makes any sounds, anyway. Also, the lasers travel slower than conventional bullets do, to the point where you can see them going through the air. A real laser, you'd just see the beam go straight from the barrel to the target. But then you wouldn't see it, because in space there's no atmospheric debris to defract the light enough to make the beam visible.

Bleh. They're enjoyable movies, but they aren't mecca. The storyline is pants, most of the characters are shit (Luke Skywalker is such a bellend), and it's all just nonsense. Indiana Jones takes place in real places, with real (though dramatized) historical locations and things going on. It's reality with just a touch of fantasy. Plus, Indiana Jones is such a brilliant character. He's not a wet-behind-the-ears pussy like Skywalker. He's got way more attitude.

Its also got better music than star wars...seriously that theme tune just never gets friggen old! Cant wait for the fourth film, like you I hope theyt dont fuck up like they do with most other long time awaited sequals.

Never bin a fan of the Lege games, not even the crappy ps1 games when I was like 7, so I dont think i'll be picking this title up anytime so...anytime.

On the subject of Indiana Jones games, anyone want a copy of Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine for PC?
