Nintendo Wii/DS News | Square Enix Plans More Chocobo Games

By Adam Riley 04.07.2007 2

Following the fantastic RPG spin-off Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales for the DS, IGN caught up with Square Enix to talk about the game and our yellow-feathered friend's future on Nintendo formats, as well as about the game in general. Below is a snippet from the interview:

IGN: It seems that with so many brands and ideas, Square Enix often doesn't repeat itself with sequels to spin-off games. Could we see sequels to Chocobo Tales or any of the other DS titles, or are you more focused on bringing a constant stream of original content?

Yuki Yokoyama: While I can't say anything specific about sequels right now, I can say with certainty that you will see more chocobo titles in the future. (So we may be able to discuss this issue in more detail at a later time!)

Square Enix commits itself to creating balance between sequels and original titles. For the fans, it is important to create spin-offs and sequels, but we are also interested in exploring the unknown.

Other than Chocobo's Dungeon on Wii, you certainly have to hope another Chocobo Tales is being considered in there. As long as Chocobo Racing does not make a return!

Be sure to check out the full interview here.

Stick around for further updates...

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."
