Nintendo Speculation | Timesplitters 4 on Wii?

By Adam Riley 01.07.2007 22

Quick News - Official Playstation Magazine has revealed Free Radical is working on Timesplitters 4 for PS3 and, presumably, 360. Given the UK outfit's past positive comments about Nintendo and how the previous two games have been on GC, if nothing appears on Wii it would certainly be surprising!

How can this be honestly reported as news? Its been totally pulled out of someones arse.

It's speculation. OPM only mentioned the PS3 version, but considering Free Radical has always praised Nintendo so much and stated the Timesplitters franchise should be on Nintendo formats as well, it's a fair point to discuss the idea of TS4 coming to Wii.

The drawback is Haze has been said to be too powerful for Wii...

I love all of the Timesplitter games, but im not sure about 4 though!! Like you said the Wii might not handle it!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Drawback? Surely the fact they've already got a next-gen FPS on the HD consoles means Wii is considerably more likely to be getting this, no?

Less posty, more gamey.

Not really, it'll sell more on the 360 and PS3..

Not really. They've just spent millions on tools and technology for big budget PS3/360/PC games. They'll want to get as much return on all that as possible.

If it's definitely on PS3, I doubt very much that it will also be on Wii. If it was an in-house EA game, maybe things would be different.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

I too would be very surprised if there was a PS3 and Wii version. Having re-read raz's comments I've noticed the rub:

Cue the last-gen 3-title Wii-exlusive Timesplitters compilation with tagged on motion controls?

Culd have sworn Free Radical specifically said they didnt like the way Nintendo was going, a few months back.

Assassin has a point. You guys post a lot of interesting stuff and then do silly things like this. If it's speculation or something, don't make it appear as news. Please don't do this again. Want to post speculation? Go ahead and do it in a speculation article or something.

I agree that there's an issue with C3 and misleading news articles. This site puts far too much spin on everything. News should be purely factual.

It does say 'Nintendo Speculation' in the title at least.

Timesplitters is an epic trilogy? I've got number 2 sitting on my table waiting for a play - should I be starting with the first?

I'm not sure, I've never played it... I heard it was pretty poor though.

I heard it was a decent little series in the Goldeneye vein. Is this a case of Mr Megadanx talking from an oriface of the anal variety?

I never thought it was the story that sold the game, I thought it was the multiplayer. Story was a little boring really to be honest.

Anyway, I prolly won't be getting it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned up on Wii. 2 & 3 were on GC...

& yeah, I reckon we should stop whining about whether the news is "Speculation" or whatever.

There is a reason it says "Nintendo Speculation/Industry News/Nintendo News/etc" next to the news piece. If you didn't know this was speculation, then examiners all over the world would diagnose you with "Failing syndrome 'cos you never read the questions fully & answer it wrong lolerzorx"

He's talking about TS1. He's totally fucking obsessed with Timesplitters 2 and 3 Smilie

I'm confused. I blame Raz. The hounds have been released.

You should definitely play 2, it's pretty much Goldeneye but with time-travel and humour. 3 wasn't as good I thought, due to (For some reason) the story mode being stripped bare of all the extra objectives at different difficulty levels that the second one had (Like Goldeneye). Personally I blame EA. Still a good game though...
