Nintendo Scans | Zelda: Phantom Hourglass DS Details

By Jorge Ba-oh 24.05.2007 28

A handful of scans have filtered in from Japanese press revealing some juicy details on the much anticipated handheld Zelda update, Phantom Hourglass, as the cell-shaded Hylian embarks on an adventure across the seas.

Thanks to The Hylia, a short translation of the above reveals some interesting gameplay mechanics.

As revealed previously, Link journeys across the seas with Tetra and during their travels the blonde female boards a suspicious ghost shop alone. Link tries to save his pirate chum but is swallowed by the rough seas to find himself washed ashore on an unknown island. Our hero meets a treasure hunter known as Lineback, who's after some goods aboard the shop

Since when as Tingle ever been gay? SmilieSmilie

This game is set after Wind Waker. They've left the WW ocean to new lands where Gerudos live. I hope the ocean theme is similar to the Wind Waker one. I loved it!Smilie

Can the d-pad be used for control also? I didn't like touch screen movement in Final Fantasy 3 and I can't see it being any better in this.

Think this is touch screen only. Can't wait!

I'm worried about that too, but I get a horrible feeling there won't be D-Pad control...
