Nintendo News | DK Taru Jet Race Wii Controls Revealed

By Jorge Ba-oh 14.04.2007 15

In the recent edition of Famitsu, Nintendo detailed the upcoming Bongo Blast for Wii and how gamers can simulate bashing off using the Wii-remote and nunchuck.

The game will allow players to use Wii controls to control Nintendo's big ape. To accelerate, shake both controllers, to change direction, shake one, and to jump raise both. Players can also throw barrels and other projectiles.

The game spans 16 courses over 7 varied worlds and includes four player split-screen for other chimps wanting to get in on the action.

The game hits Japan on June 28th.

Smilie This should be awesome, but the Wii controls worry me a little as they could be a little unresponsive. I'm a bit mixed on control methods really, because using the Wii-mote might be unresponsive and using the bongos kills my hands.

Either way, I hope they support bongo input, if not I will not be pleased. I'm also hoping it's going to be a good substitute for the never released

Kind of like kayaking I guess...

No online i take it...... why? Nintendo.

Not every game has to be online. If it was a really good game, it would be good without the online functionality. Online would just be a bonus or an extra, whatever you might call it.

I agree. They're making games like Zelda online so why not add online to a game that actually makes more sense with it?

This game should really be bongo enabled.Smilie

Never really liked the look of this game, i think i'll wait for mario kart.

16 courses Smilie awsome i was expecting like 6-8 Smilie
anyway i need to see some footage first before i got to the shops to buy it!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Wait... You can still use the bongos too if you want to right? RIGHT!?

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

I doubt it

"simulate bashing off"?.....can't beat the real thing im afraid!

The controls don't sound too bad. Will be interesting to see how it works.

If it was a really good game, chances are it'd have online capabilities anyway. You can't justify not adding online-enabledosity-ness by saying a game is good enough. You just...can't

I may or may not get this. The trouble is, I have no bongos, and I have an overwhelming feeling that the Wii controls won't work that well. I'll reserve judgement for now, but they really need to make sure that the new controls don't ruin the gameplay.

Screwing the rules since 1989.

I might have got this if it used the bongoes since I haven't used mine since Jungle Beat.
