Following the confirmation of a new NiGHTS for Nintendo's Wii, new details of the hotly anticipated game have been revealed via various Japanese websites.

Famitsu is reporting that SonicTeam USA is readying the sequel to the Saturn classic for a Winter 2007 launch (2008 in Europe according to the UK division) and now has the name 'NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams'. The game's main feature will be how the gameplay works around the movement of the Wii controller, with players being able to glide, drift, ascend and do loop-the-loops with the greatest of ease.
"In 1996, we created the NiGHTS character to achieve a concept of 'being refreshed from being able to fly in the sky'. 11 years later, at last, we have broken our silence. NiGHTS will now fly in a new dream world: new stages, new story, and on the new Wii platform. Please look forward to NiGHTS and friends exploring this brand new adventure."
- Takashi Izuka, SonicTeam USA & Producer of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams.
"We plan to deliver a gameplay experience never before seen on the Wii with NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. The game takes full advantage of the unique Wii Remote controller enabling gamers to guide NiGHTS through spectacularly designed dream worlds intertwined with a story about hope and courage."
Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc.
