Update - The Virtual Console has gradually been building up a stronger and stronger library and now one of the best games of all time has launched on the system, Zelda: Ocarina of Time from the N64. Here is the official Press Release:

"Gamers are in for a treat on Wii's Virtual Console this week as Nintendo releases two new classics to download. Every generation, certain titles set the standard for all others. With stories so enveloping and gameplay so addictive that they define the generation. One such game, heralded by many as the greatest adventure game ever made, was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time released on the Nintendo

I probably wont get OOT because I still have it on N64 and I have the Master Quest on Gamecube but I may just have to get Kid Icarus because I've heard lots of good things about it Smilie

Pretty cool, but I'll stick to the 64 or Gamecube version. They need to get more out there that I don't already have.

Nice, where the hell is bloomin' Link to the Past (in Europe anyway)? OOT is cool, but there's just so many copies of it in this household. N64, GC edition, the rom, updated texture pack edition...

Ah well, I'll not be purchasing either (Kid Icarus perhaps one day).

That is really good news aswell as Kid Icarus.. which i havent played and there are loads of people that havent played that game so this is geat news for people to have a go at it!! Smilie

At least Nintendo are know bringing out the big guns for the VC. I am personally waiting for Majora's Mask.

Lol, I need that game. A SNES is pretty rare to find in my local GS and I've only played Lttp to on the GBA, so a VC entry would be great. It's already hit the US so there's not much stopping it launching over here!
