Nintendo News | Wii Virtual Console: Gradius, Soldier Blade, Dungeon Explorer

By Jorge Ba-oh 08.01.2007 7

Nintendo have announced the addition of three classics to the US Wii Virtual Console system this week in which some have dubbed "Virtual Console Monday". Fans of the NES and TurboGrafx16 will be satisfied this week with 3 new action packed additions.

  • Gradius
NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points
Space adventures with Vic Viper as he takes on the Bacterion race to save planet Gradius.

  • Soldier Blade
    TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points
Action in the skies with a heavy assault fighter, "Soldier Blade", armed to take on the deadly Zeograd invasion.

  • Dungeon Explorer
    TurboGrafx16, 1-5 players, 600 Wii Points
Explore dark dungeons with your mates, working together to overcome the dangers through a combination of magic and power.

A little less than promised but still an interesting update for the service.

Stick with C3 for future updates..

They still have no new games by amateur developers that they were saying could come out for VC.

Avoid Games Like the Plague, productivity++

Nothing special there

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

Very boring. Nothing on VC I am barely interested in yet. Strange.

Woooooooo!!!

Clearly you never played Gradius. It was a huge game back then. But - as I just said over at Eledees: You don't have to buy these games. They are optional.

All these VC-games are from the past. True, that there is no good new game to get until Nintendo starts to add new indie-games - which I hope they will do very soon.

Crazylurch, what would you buy on VC - anything, name it?

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Only played Gradius 3 and that game was EXCELLENT. I'll have to assume that the first one was pretty shite though, being on the NES...

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

Any ideas when Gradius will come to Europe VC?
