    Kidding yes?

I was going to say great my girlfriend will love this, but jesus, look at it!. Please be a joke as it looks horrific.

It COULD work if they make it fully online, with the "mii" imported as our people, so you had a full massive online community with at LEAST several streets together (on one server?).

But i cant see that, its EA, i can see The Sims 1 - made less fun - with these piss poor graphics. If so, ill be getting the 360/PS3 copy Smilie

Looks like an animal crossing clone.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

This looks more like animal crossing to me... maybe a bad translation.. And Why have Nintendo Consoles always have to get these kiddy looking games.. the xbox is getting none.. only raunchy, nasty horrory, bloody, mature games.. and Nintendo hasn't got such a different demographic.. common.. work with Nintendo and give some games with the X-factor!

Did that last commentor say "with the X-factor"?

Definately, any less and it will be like all other Sims games on consoles: poor.

Coming to think of it, using Mii's as the faces would work well. Everyone should have a different face and not the generic ones seen in previous Sims.

    360 Gamertag: shiptoncraig
    PSN: shiptoncraig
    Steam: Guess what?

Agreed but that would only work if there was online play, as who cares if your face is different, when your playing all alone lol.

EA wont do it right, we all know that.

And "X-factor" joke, hahaha, i dont want none of that X-factor shite in my games, have you seen what it is!

Still a proud member of the 'omfg amazing water in games' society

It just has the animal crossing character design which is good in the way that some people wont be alienated from the game although it does alienate the sims regulars, at the same time it all depnds on how the game plays not on how it looks. I wonder if it's because it's EA you guys are comlaining.

Silence is the loudest noise we could possibly hear.

Bet its a copy of AC because thats selling so well in Japan.

Ditto. I thought I WAS looking at Animal Crossing Wii.

EA is trying to make the sims a successful console franchise by using the Animal Crossing character Designs. Who could blame them. Animal crossing has sold more the a million copies in Every major territory for the DS. It will probably do the same for the Wii. Then add to this the fact that Harvest Moon online is being developed for the Wii. Since these games are easy to pickup and play for hardcore gamers and nongamers alike, this fits into the concept of the Wii. Casual gamers and non gamers will have a chance to play and expand the fanbase of these games.

@ Wo33eR: The Sims Wii is only for the Wii. The PS3 version is different.

The PS3 version'll have amazing graphics. Nuff said. Smilie

    it looks animal crossing like...

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Haven't they treid to make it look like Sim City on the 64DD? I think it looks quite good but it is just a rip off of Animal Crossing. A Mii feature would also be very good along with online play but we all know that EA wont do that. So they can shove it up their backsides as far as i'm conserned.

This just got me thinking, does anyone else think we'll have a Second Life like Mii-based virtual world at some point in the future (although I'm sure Nintendo will duck out of currency exchange issues)?

    Exciting possibility?

Well Animal Crossing Wild World has sold over 5m, it is bleieved to sold somewhere in the region of 5.2m and with the movie being released and Christmas coming it is quite a realistic target for this game to sell 6m by Christmas.

So it makes sense for EA to try and capitalise on this new wave of game, well everyone done it with the Brain Training series, so far, SONY, SEGA, CAPCOM, NAMCO and KONAMI are all maing training games.

    Its utterly stupid.

Dont they, or anyone, understand that Mii's dont have too look like that?

Its just charecter features, they can be done in any still.
The wiimote just stores stuff like eyetype, facetype, colour, ect.

It dosnt store the charecter, textures or any actual data.
Games can take the same features, so we can see our Mii's in different styles.
    Realistic, simplistic, futuristic, fantastic...whatever.

Seems likely, and could be great in the future.

I really like the look of Sim City DS...should be great, and coming out in Feb 07 apparently. Hopefully it won't be too long before its Western release!

Couldn't care less about the Sims but the thought of a handheld Sim City is very appealing. Hope it works well.

Sims looks pretty nice to me.

I do not get this "WHY DOSE THIS LOOK KIDDY" threads I have been seeing all over the net.

    Hmmm, maby because its JAPANESE!?

So they made it in a style that would be more suited for Japanese gamers? Whoa they actualy do that? Wow!

And now we can truly see just how cute this game is going to be...and what as asset it will be for the Wii in Japan!

If Nintendo gets enough Wii systems out there, this could be a million-seller...EA's first ever in Japan. Now wouldn't that do wonders for they're relationship? Smilie

You ALL are playing way too far into the graphical/art style of this new game.

I think it's a welcome change from the spastic, reality based sim games that have been coming out for years.

I dont see why a style like this couldn't emmerse a player more-so into the game, with the originality of a fresh, designer based, world, as aposed to one based on the binds of realism.

I mean, c'mon... look at animal crossing for Christ's sake-

That consistantly sells more than most games out now, and encapsulates the player in thier own little, personal life, for hours on end!

I personally will be buying this.

I wanna see what EA's take on this style will be.
