With Link making appearances on both the Wii and GameCube toward the end of the year, there has been confusion as to where players can obtain a copy of the GameCube edition with certain regions having online-only policies.
Yesterday Nintendo of Japan announced that the GameCube version of Zelda could only be bought online.
Today, Nintendo of Greece issued an email to members of their online club that translates to: "A special offer for all registered members of http://www.nintendo.gr this week. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess releases in December for the GameCube, you will not find him (Link) in the shops but only on the online electronic store."
However, for the remainder of Europe it seems Link will be in the usual stores to buy offline. According to our Nintendo UK representative, "Zelda on GameCube will be available via the usual retail channels in Europe."
We can safely say that this should apply to North America as well, but await official confirmation on the issue.
Thanks to C3 reader Mr. Ashcroft for the tip on Greece. Stay tuned for updates.
