It lacked depth in solo mode, but multiplayer was a laugh...Hopefully it'll have some special moves related to Wii controller movement. Should be fun!

Interesting. Not one of the first games that I think of to get a Wii update, but could be good - multiplayer was indeed where it was at in the first game. I loved pushing people in electric fences...

Great news to here. My friends and I greatly enjoyed the last game and a sequel sounds exciting. If some of the flaws from the GCN version especially in single player could be fixed up and if there was an online mode then this game could do very well.

This is ass. Nintendo should be working on something decent rather than another unwanted Mario Sports game.

Unfortunately I agree...we've already got enough established franchises being updated...we want new stuff! Enough Sports Games already! Smilie

Dude yuor totally awesome. And i won't be killing you anytime soon.

I played it the other day at my cousins house. It's just Sega Soccer Slam minus the character.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

As long as it's high quality then I'm fine with it coming out, first and foremost Ninty have to shift consoles and games and Mario Strikers was reasonably successful at doing that.

I hope a Battalion wars sequal is shown.

Yes please. With Detructable terrain and online multiplayer confirmation.

Kuju were supposed to be working on something for Wii, specifically a sequel to Battalion Wars, but I think they're working on a PS3 game at the moment and are small enough to be only able to do one game at a time. I'm not sure though, could be wrong.

Well Strikers was a great success in N.America and mainland Europe racking in 500k in each terrority with nearly reaching 200k in Japan and is the last 1m seller on the GCN (well only paper mario and LOZ to come) so it was a big success for Nintendo.

I have both games and you can tell that a lot of Strikers is taken from Soccer slam and that ain't a bad thing but Strikers adds to it in a big way leading to a far better game.

That would be pure sex and i think it is a real possibility

You would have thought that the traditional Tennis or Golf would have came first but i can see why they picked Football because Baseball, GOlf and Tennis (Wii Sports) and Madden are all ready for lauch so the only real sport left was either Bball (on DS) or Football

Well they have different studios don't they, Kuju London did Battalion wars. It could well be another studio doing the PS3 game. Kuju Sheffield do lots of stuff for Sony.

They have six studios, which is a surprise to me - I was under the impression that they only had a couple. Battalion Wars 2 is most likely in progress and probably has been for the last few months, then.

Yeah most of them do odds and ends (bits of other peoples games), cheap sports games and budget PC stuff. Battalion Wars was on a whole new level to all their other crap.

They're definitely doing BW on either Wii or DS...I'd go with Wii, though since its more likely as AW has been on DS already.

For those that don't know - Mario Smash Football and Sega Soccer Slam are by the same developer. This new Wii version would again likely be by them as well.

I think they'll keep the Wars franchise to home consoles in the form of the Battalion subset, while the handhelds will keep the Advance subset.

And they'll probably just port the Battalion Wars engine (easily) and soup it up rather than starting from scratch on the DS.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

its ok but i would really like to see them step away from mario sports games for a while. cant nintendo look at a new ip just for change.

Mario sports games are great i don't see why people dislike them so much

Yeah I really like them too. There's so much replay value with the multiplayer, fair enough the single player is a bit bland on all of them but thats not really what they are for. An online mode is a real possibility, that would add so much to them all and make them all essential purchases for me

Well the first one did have some destructible terrain. It was shit though. Anyway, there's a sequel that we would welcome... Why do they even bother making sports games when they know everyone hates them?

Same here I'm sick of the sports games. Nintendo should invent a new chracter.

Why do they even bother making sports games when they know everyone hates them?

Oh how the sales figures beg to differ all of the mario sports games on Nintendo consoles sold 1m+ and tennis sold over 2m on the N64Smilie

Clearly many people disagree with your opinion.
