Nintendo News | No Vegas Rainbow for Wii

By Jorge Ba-oh 07.07.2006 17

Quick News: With growing speculation of an apperance for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Vegas on the Wii, Ubisoft have been quick to deny these 'net rumours: "Rainbow Six Vegas has been announced and is currently being developed for the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 platforms, and is not in development for any other consoles at this time."

Stay tuned for further updates. Thanks to Club Skill for the tip.

never heard of that game. Do we need it?

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Yes we do.

They'll come round. Smilie

Are you sure about that? Because there's no way for them to find out if it would genuinly do well on Wii, I'm sure it would, but Petitions are usually useless...

Well, hey, Ubi's love is placed elsewhere, hey? Smilie

No surprise, it's not in the Wii's demographic.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Ubisoft have tipped loads of praise on Nintendo and have up to 8 titles in development for it, if the retail list I posted about a while ago is accurate - and Far Cry was one of those games, which is seemingly closer to confirmation after a story posted earlier on Cubed3. They have no shortage of love for the system, I just think they're concentrating on other things for now and keeping their fingers in all the pots. I'd be surprised to not see a version of it somewhere along the line if their existing developments do well.

GameCube got Rainbow Six 3:Lockdown and it probably sold like shit.

Red Steel/FarCry will be the test for ubisoft most likley. If the games sell and sell then everything will come to the Wii.

Rainbow Six is shite, it should be a budget game.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

yeah rainbow six lockdown probably sold shit! i dont reckon they sold a 100.000 in Uk Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

I think companies will possibly decided to "whore" many of the multiplatform titles depending on how well each system does, eg, if PS3 does badly, then games could be "whored" to the Wii, or if Wii does brilliantly with other titles under the same franchise/company name. Smilie

Well it was offline, and R6 is only any use online. Still shite though.

Makes sense to me. And Red Steel is going to sell. I'm getting it as soon as I can.

No this game may not come to the Wii. One reason why is because the game may make use of the internal harddrive of the 360 and the PS3. The Wii does not have an internal harddrive. Even if Nintendo does offer an external harddrive it will be optional and not all Wii gamers will buy the optional harddrive, which will also segment the Wii market. Nintendo will not segment their market in this way. There is no benefit to having games that some gamers can not play.

Why would it need a hard drive?

If you mean for downloadables, then lets look at Lockdown on Xbox. No bug fixes, no new maps, no nothing.

Don't make shit up, you'll get bummed in the gob.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Shame really. Felt that Ubisoft seemed to love Nintendo Gamecube. This is not welcoming news really. Smilie

Der SegaHund,
If you read my comment you would have noticed that I listed a reason why the Wii has been excluded. If you go back and look at the first installment of Ghost Recon. It featured two expansions,Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder for the Xbox and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm for the PS2. Ghost Recon 2 also had an Xbox expansion called Ghost Recon Summit Strike. This could be what UBI is planning with Rainbow Six vegas. This was done for Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield which had the following expanisons, Athena Sword and Iron Wrath (which was a free download).
