Nintendo Rumour | Far Cry for Nintendo Wii?

Quick News: With the release of any console, online stores begin to speculate and add listings for titles that could be released. Amazon Canada has listed Far Cry for Nintendo Wii set for November 15th. Could this be confirmation of the game's existence or a retailer mistake?

Stay tuned to C3 to see if this rumour progresses.

Ubisoft = Loving Nintendo at the mo, so FarCry would be expected.

Would be a great addition to the Wii line-up, and as you say Ubi love Nintendo! They seem to be one of the few developers really really loving what the Wii can do right now.

i dont know. it could be an easy port i quess but which one? far cry or instincts?
i'm still not too sure that this is true. would be nice though.

I'll just post what I said last time to calm down all the farCry PC fans.

Just to clarify the whole FarCry thing:
The original FarCry for PC was developed by german developer CryTek and published by Ubisoft. Ubisoft got all the IP from the deal and went on to create Farcry Instincts series for Xbox and 360. The Instincts games are good FPSs, but are nothing special, just downgraded more linear console games using CryEngine.
A Wii version will NOT be by Crytek, it will be another Instincts game by Ubisoft Montreal.
This is still good news as it shows a major FPS franchise being put on Wii, even if it is a rather unimaginative and heavily milked one.

Sorry, when I posted I was in a bit of a rush, so it came across as a bit sharp - I meant that this correlates with what I posted a while back and backs it up a bit, so more likely to be true now (and the list came from a trusted poster on NeoGAF anyway). Smilie

I'm skeptical about this. This would imply that FarCry would be a launch title for the Wii. It's possible but I'll wait for UBi's conformation of this or until Nintendo releases a list of launch titles for the Wii.

Ubisoft own everything needed to make a fantastic farcry game except for the staff from Crytek.

I think they can do the job.

I remeber hearing something about this around E3 time. I seem to remember it being an official announcment of sorts. Dont know why we wouldn't have heard anymore about it until now, though, if that was the case.

There was never an official announcement, but there was a release list given to retailers that had it on, as well as some other Ubisoft Wii games not mentioned. You can find a link to it earlier in the comments.

Retailers also listed Final Fantasy Vii as a product for the PS3 until Square-Enix publicly stated that they were not remaking final fantasy Vii. Therefore, as I stated before I will wait for the parties involved to shed some light on the subject.

i think that it would be a brilliant launch title or wii game in general. It would also show that the people who create major franchises are interested in the wii which would shut up all the wii haters. Smilie
