Nintendo Media | Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Screens

By John Boyle 06.06.2006 57

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the final game of the Prime story arc and continues the story of Phazon and how it's tearing the universe apart. Samus is being bombarded by distress signals from many planets asking for help but it's the Galactic Federation's Base Sector Zero that is shouting the loudest. Space Pirates have attacked and Samus must join forces with the Federation troopers and other Hunters to save everyone from space pirates, other enemies and even Dark Samus. Set to launch with the Wii this game is looking phenomenal and these new screens just help highten the hype.

Boy those look good.... REALLY good. Is that a Cortana esque character? Is it Dark samus suitless? Look at that huge boss...

And metroid prime 3 is looking MUCH better already. I knew the Wii could do far better.

OMG...I JUST WET ME PANTS. First Zelda, then SSBB, then Mario Galaxy and now this. I can't this anymore....too many AAA games. I like the context of the story, sounds desperate. The new screens look fantastic, I am waiting for them to load. Get back to you when they do.

How can you tell? Those screenshots are horrid in quality.

I think everything looks like it lacks polys...

Those screens do look tasty! I reckon that floating woman/spirit thing must be where Dark Samus is drawn from Original Samus!

These screens are shot with a camera off screen, I think.
Please, Ninty, give us real Screenshots! These look wonderful already...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Are we looking at the same screens...? They just look Metroid Primey to me!

I still see the same sort of graphics we saw at E3, but with more purple.

I hate to be the only one with a negative comment...

You're not the only one, Knighty as well... Haters...

They look nice but i want some direct feed pictures! Theres been a distinct lack in them for the wii.

hmmm, these pics seem to be taken from a video clip.

Yeah... the quality of those pics wasn't so hot. Direct feed screen shots are needed before we can mark out

This looks quite nice:

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

Were are these pictures actually from?

Sweet mother of god...*gets shocked by drooling over pc*

That looks pretty sweet...

That grapple beam bit looked interesting...:O

Did...did Samus carpet bomb something in that pic.

*drools*

THey're blatantly off screen... I hate screenshots anyway... Give us some videos!!

look five posts up. The woman is a space pirate and dark samus infects samus with phazon.

Is that a Cortana esque character?

I was thinking the same thing. Smilie

The graphics look the same as those in E3, or very similar. I'm just waiting for the final thing so I can get as engrossed as I did with MP1/2.

Thanks for the vid, the game looks like it could shape up nicely. I'll wait for some reviews though, Metroid Prime seems to be very hit or miss, and it's just a miss for me.

I like the look of it - seems more involved and the increased number of shots with Samus' ship give me hope that there will be some dogfight action Smilie

On the down side, I think they're getting carried away with the whole >>THIS IS WHAT SAMUS / DARK SAMUS LOOKS LIKE OMFGOSH<< thing. First Prime we had a quiet, reserved bounty hunter who took her helmet off to reveal a young determined woman to look at a planet which was once home to the people that brought her up, second Prime we had the light vs. dark theme which was pretty sweet, and the boss fights were very tough, especially with the Dark Samus alter-ego.

Now it's verging a bit close to the style over substance for me at least - what next? Mudfights in bikinis? I hope they don't cheapen one of the stronger characters in Nintendo's portfolio; Metroid is unique and too valauble for that.

{Guild}Ohmdal: But how did you get the poo inside of the box when the goat was sleeping on top of it?
{Guild}Ohmdal: oops wrong chat

Samus' ship give me hope that there will be some dogfight action

Wont be dog fight action but there is a visor to controle her ship at certain points.
