I think it's surprising to see Halo 3 in the top 10 there, as well as seeing 360 dominate over DS, but definitely a good showing for Nintendo!

Well, in fairness nothing at E3 on the DS "Wowed" me, but I do plan to buy Yoshi's island 2 and Final Fantasy 3. Other than New Mario Bros. there's nothing on the DS that has me very excited. On the other hand, the 360 has Gears of War, Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto 4 with exclusive content, plus Xbox Live Arcade games to be shouting about.

Show me a Game Boy Virtual Console on the DS Wi Fi service however, and those scales will tip in a second!

Incidentally, it's not all that surprising that the Japanese aren't that excited about GTA4. As usual the Japanese companies dominate the survey.

What is surprising is that Resident Evil 5 doesn't seem to be on that list, while the Wii's "Resident Evil Series" is... does anyone know if these two games are going to be different or not?

The Resident Evil coming for the Wii is an exclusive game, and it's rumored to be a Gun Survivor episode. I know most people reject this spin off, but considering the WiiMote and how badly the title was treated due to controls problems in previous versions, it's a safe bet (IMHO) to say this game will take a lot of advantage thanks to the Wii.

I was thinking the exact same thing; how the heck did an FPS crack top ten in a Japanese survey?! Smilie

Good news for Nintendo though; they are really on the peoples' minds.

It's a great success for Ninty, that a survey amongst core-gamers list that much interessest for Wii - looks better than on the Cube, which has been cursed by core gamers.
Do not be disappointed because the market, that Ninty wants to go to is not amongst the surveyed people.

With DS behind - that's no surprise: DS is on the market vor 17 months and nothing new is coming fot the hardware itself - remember how much DS are being sold weekly - why look forward to hardware you already own or plan to buy?

and last: There are almost no unique games there. More or less everything there is standard - JRPGs which are not that revolutionary (don't get me wrong, I love these RPGs). I am pleased that the Japanese people look forward to play these on Wii with a new controller. Let me say that a innovative control-mode in a type of game, which is more or less conservative, is been looked forward to by people who think conservative too with these kind of games... (did anyone understood these snake-like sentence I created? I did not... I CREATED A MONSTER!)

Well the DS is not exactly new hardware. It like being asked you are more excited about ps2 than ps3? Most will say ps3 because it is the newer console. Basic human nature.

I enjoyed the arcade-version of House Of The Dead 2 from Sega. Why not doing something similar to Resident Evil?
Of course, better than the poor speech in this arcade-classic "Gee... bloodstains!" or "I don't wanna die!"

Its a demostration of how badly sony did.

Hence the Xbox360 doing rather good.

God that really is a suprise Halo in the top 10 in japan. Im suprised Mario wasn't a it higher up. Did we have a survey like this last year and wasnt it like Sony domenated?
