E3 2006 Speculation | Star Wars on Nintendo Wii

By Adam Riley 11.05.2006 16

Quick News - Each of the games in our E3 rumour story has been revealed at the show, except Star Wars. But IGN asked if LucasArts had Wii plans and received a knowing smile and 'We are looking into it' in response. A definite positive sign!

Keep it locked to C3 for further updates...

*BJOOM!* Smilie

This is the closest I'll ever get to using a Lightsaber. If it happens, it's a must buy for me Smilie

Oh yes, had to, HAD TO happen!

Everyone will buy this game, surely. Smilie

Theres a tech demo of a lightsabre battle on GameTrailers for the Wii, can't remember where, I'll try and dig it up.

Definately a good sign...but even if one is being made/considered sadly it won't be released for a while.

Smilie i know some star wars fan and dont get in the way when they want something they get it Smilie

fenno, apparently the way the LucasArts guys were looking at each other and talking it'd be crazy if one wasn't ALREADY in development! Red Steel? Red Light Sabre of Death!

When I first began to think up of concepts to which the Wii controller could be used for, a lightsaber came to mind. The dream has come true! I will be keeping my eyes glued to C3 and the like for more news! Smilie

If you could find that Spydarlee that would be gr8! Smilie
Star wars game..very exciting..One of my friends is a real nerd who adores star wars..hes still pondering between wii or 360..surely he won't be able to resist this!! Smilie

IANC said:
Dude yuor totally awesome. And i won't be killing you anytime soon.

Imagine...
A lightsabre battle holding your Wii-remote. Not only is it capable of producing the familiar *hummmm* on the speaker of the remote itself, but a battle can be fought against your friend with looking at him instead of looking at the screen. The controllers emmit *brrzzz* when the lights touch, the humming sound gets louder when you swing and finally - after Darth Vader... I mean after your friend lost to you and lies in the dust at your feet (muahahahaha), you press 'A' and the saber *shwishes* as the 'blade' disappeares into the Wii-remote...

Even merchandise is worth a thought. Think about working Wii-remotes shaped like a LIGHTSABRE-HANDLE!!! *thunder roars*

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Ah yes, finally instead of just bashing buttons and staring in amazement at fancy moves, we can actually do them ourselves! Smilie Another game suited for the Wii would be Soul Calibur...Oh yes, imagine doing Kilik's fancy moves...Or Maxi's...well i guess not all of them would be possible...Hmm, a boxing game might be cool actually...Super Punchout!!!!!!! now that's a thought! oh PLEASE make it Nintendo!!! It'll be the BEST THING EVER!!!Smilie

Wow, is real cool the way you describe it Laurelin! ^^ Would be fantastic!

What happend to the sadness trailor?

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.

Yes! Another Rogue Squadron, please!!

A Star Wars game with light saber stuff would probably sell at least 10,000-20,000 units Smilie
This is every Star Wars nerd's dream, and a game like this would be a huge selling point to them, and there's still other games they'd be interested in so they wouldn't feel like they're buying a console for just one game.

Hey, I'm not a Star Wars Nerd!
*from the back* "Laurelin, I'm your father *breathe* CLEAN YOUR ROOM!"
"Yes Dark Highness, Sir, Vader, Sir!" *putting LEGO-star-wars-kits into the box with force-grip *

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

i dont know ho wit will work, unles its gonna be in first person!!! im not sure how it will work in third person!?!? but hopefully they will make a Star Wars game!!! im hoping on a new Rouge Squadrom!!! Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

Definately. I'm absolutely craving some Star Wars games for Wii. A game with epic lightsaber, force & blaster combat is a must, but the Star Wars game I'm craving the most is Rogue Squadron IV! I love the Rogue Squadron games, Rebel Strike is my favorite. Nintendo's "Wiimote" would be perfect for this type of game. I just hope they would give us advanced pilots an alternate control scheme that would allow us to have true 360 degree free flight. Deep wifi versus and co-op modes are a MUST!Smilie

Chance favors the prepared mind.
