Swish article!
Such a great conference, positively fun and exciting to watch, just brilliant. So many great new games I can barely list them all without forgetting one or too (not because they're not memorabl of course )
Looking forward to some hands on with the new Wii titles.
Following the amazing revelation of a tilt-sensitive PlayStation 3 controller
A little on the sarcastic side...but i like it!
Nice work Raz. Your right, the entire thing was about having a laugh. Whoever thought of sticking Iwata, Shigsy and Reggie up on stage for some Wii Tennis must be smiling every minute - as it just goes to show, their the sort of people that'll play this console. 4 adults having a laugh and enjoying there gaming.
Thinking about it now (or after reading your article) it does seem as though the big N were more interested in showing the sort of games that could be played with the Wiimote. Tennis, Golf, Racing and Red Steel aren't the sort of gamers we're used to at E3, they were literally 'hands on'. They weren't sequals either. Not no concepts in the games, just the way you play. Maybe thats why they we're so heavily pushed. Even Mario Galaxy was held back compared to Red Steel. Zelda was shown, but that was obvious. There'd be an uproar if it wasn't!
Hopefully in the upcoming months will see 'leaks' of gaming info regarding some of the Ninty franchises that weren't mention (Pikmin, Smash Bros and Luigi's mansion would be nice).
you know i watched the conference LIVE and i know what was shown but i still keep reading these articles and i still get exited evertime i read them!!!!
it was a great show!!!
Trully fantastic...but there really is so much more to be revealed
Exactly, it was as if Nintendo reeled us all in using its own massive freehand controller and has us all dangling until more information hits!
The opening of the conference with Miyamoto conducting a virtual orchestra and then dancing to some tunes...absolutely fantastic! Highlight of the show for me!! Unforgettable!
Sony bragged that they had sold 17million PSP's....
That'll be Sony swapping shipped figures for sales again presumeably?
Yes, definitely. Nintendo has a lead of between 3-4 million in Japan (I think) and the difference between sold units in the US and Europe is minimal, with the DS slightly ahead in Europe apparently.
So tell me how Sony can have SOLD more units of the PSP then?
I_H, Shiggy dancing - wow, that man has some 'phat moves'
Well said. Name aside, this will be the system to watch, and buy on day one, which probably means a day one or day two PREORDER.
Sony will fail to get more than 20% market share is my current opinion, at least in the US. MS will pull 30% to 35%. Nintendo will take the rest. How? It's not just innovation anymore...it's GAMES!

According to 1UP.com, MS had the best conference...and MS has such a large lead that it could reach something like 8-10 million units before Sony and Nintendo even get off the starting blocks. That's tough to catch up to...
I can just imagine a similar video of Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers attempting to visibly enjoy themselves with their introverted consoles... The closest they could get is Sony's EyeToy, I think, but people playing Halo 2 online do not look anything like Nintendo's new generation of happy, physical gamers. The great thing is, I buy it. Physicality actually adds a significant element to fun.

I also enjoyed Microsoft's conference, but I think they will struggle to compete with Nintendo's powerful games and the sheer fun of this new degree of gaming.
Sony will get some of it, but observant gamers will find their treatment of 3D half-baked. Since it is not their focus, for Sony, (limited) 3D control really is just a gimmick.

loved it, there was very little talking and lots of GAMING!
I like that.
Nintendo definitely knows how to show off a new system.
Showing the CEOs avatar in that tennis game was priceless. That put a smile on my face. These are the moments that matter I think. I hope that means I can create my own avatar that looks like me too.
Joystiq have pictures of the SSB Brawl game:
*clicky*
There was a lot more to this post, but I was using stupid and outdated information. So, nevermind!

SSBB and Super Mario Galaxy (developed by the Tokyo team that did DK Jungle Beat, by the way fact fans!) both LOOK next gen, whilst the Third Party stuff is definitely GC/XBOX/PS2 quality due to the early dev kits that they have. Expect changes in quality over the next few months.
Hearing about MS siding with Nintendo against Sony is very amusing...Rare content on the VC would help Nintendo squeeze Sony out even more, which would be great news.
