Earlier today Warner Bros. and Eidos announced they had signed a deal for the distribution of Tom and Jerry tales in North America and Europe. The game is set to appear on both of Nintendo's handheld consoles; the GBA and DS. It is set for release during autumn later this year.
What's it all about, though? Well according to the 'in-depth' press release we received this afternoon, Tom and Jerry Tales will contain 'vast and colourful environments that allow players to experience the struggle between cat and mouse fans have enjoyed for decades."
The game will also feature the 'classic high kinks of Tom and Jerry along with an original art style". We would hazard a guess that this points to a cell-shaded style as is often the choice for games based on cartoons and comics (XIII et al).
Players will take control of rapscallion Jerry in an attempt to outwit Tom and lead him into as much mischief as possible. Each level will be set out as a fast-paced chase to the finish line (or rather mouse hole) with a variety of booby traps and obstacles to avoid along the way.
Be sure to stick with C3 for more updates soon enough (maybe even some screens if you're lucky!)
