The first ever footage from one of E3's biggest titles...

Earlier today, on American news channel CNN, the first ever footage of Mario Kart: Double Dash was broadcast. Whilst it may only be a small clip we promise you that what you will see is pretty special. The game seems to look gorgeous in motion, taking on a very Mario Sunshine feel, whilst having a great sense of fun and speed. We will find out much more about this title at E3.

Having looked through the footage quite a few times we can now see a couple of new characters. Is that Diddy Kong in there, and is that strange green looking fella Baby Luigi, we think it might be. You can also see all the guages and meters that appear on screen.

This all-too brief snippet shows a standard Likatu-orchestrated lights start, now involving a bob sleigh style puch off from the rear partner, plus brief snippets of racing plus sweeping shots of a couple of the arenas - a raceway effort and a jungle romp.
