Zelda Sales
Can anyone say Number One?

In what has been something of a bad patch in the lifespan of Nintendo we can bring you some amazing news for both Zelda and the GameCube.

It has been reported that in the UK only over 80.000 copies of Wind Waker have been sold in just the weekend. Throughout Europe Nintendo claims to have sold over 300.000 copies of the game, making it one of the best selling titles ever.

And that’s not the only good news we have for you. Due to the amazing sales of Zelda, hardware sales of the GameCube have more than tripled in the last few days, making it the best selling console format in the country.

David Gosen, managing director of Nintendo Europe had this to say about the recent jump in sales...

"The sales for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker have been phenomenal this weekend and we are working very hard to ensure our European retailers continue to have enough stock to meet consumer demand. These excellent sales reflect our belief that this is the most eagerly anticipated game of the year and a very important title for Nintendo GameCube."
