Ubisoft has announced today that it is to bring the first ever Nintendo DS role-playing game to utilise the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection across to the US and Europe this Spring. The Taito-developed Lost Magic has only just been released in Japan, charting at a healthy No.20 on its first week of release, yet is already nearly translated for the Western markets.
"Lost Magic adds a new dimension to the role playing genre on DS, by bringing innovative gameplay thanks to the stylus and the Wi-Fi Connection," stated Tony Kee, Ubisoft's Vice President of Marketing. "Ubisoft is proud to bring a game with such innovation to the gamers around the whole world."
Developed by Yoshiharu Sato, the game follows Isaac, a young wizard, through a world where peace has been threatened by an evil force. The only hope lies in seven magic wands and Isaac. Players can launch magical attacks using the stylus, creating up to 350 different magical combinations to help restore peace. There is also the chance to collect and control various monsters to aid your quest. In addition the control of the game has been likened to that of a PC point-and-click title, except using a stylus and the DS touch-screen. And finally, players can battle against friends via the online Wi-Fi connection.
Spring 2006 certainly cannot come quick enough...
