Why are we waiting?Interplay has confirmed that the 'eargerly awaited' Galleon: Islands of Mystery, is still in development and is on track for a US release this Autumn. If it does get released then it will be one of the most heavily delayed games ever - even rivalling the 'King of Delays', RARE. Eighteen months ago preview copies of the title were sent out, only to be stolen back when the feedback was far from encouraging. Realising that it was a bit of a turkey Toby Gard, the creator of the Tomb Raider series, took back the game, originally a DreamCast-only project for 'tweaking'. Well now the tweaking is almost at an end and the official word is Autumn, 2003. Will it be any good, though? Well, the thing is, it has enough promise to be average at best, but we just don't know what the tweaking involved. Let's assume they just made the graphics better, well would that make it a good game? No! The gameplay was said be to appalling and play like 'a rusty old tank'! However, just think what people said about Metroid Prime when it was first shown... Screenshots
