There is good news for fans of the long-running crime series Mafia with a new announcement by 2K Games that their upcoming Mafia: Definitive Edition will be released on August 28 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Set during the 1930s, this well loved open-world classic was a smash hit on the PC in 2002. Remade from the ground up, fans will see a new game engine, reworked script and even additional gameplay features and missions.
The release is part of the wider trilogy of Mafia titles also being remastered, with Mafia II and Mafia III Definitive Editions out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Steam users who already owned the second game will find their copies have updated automatically free-of-charge on the platform. While Mafia III has been updated automatically for both PC and console existing owners.
