Today, 26th January, Codemasters officially unveiled the newest addition to their expansive and action-packed DiRT rallying series, DiRT 4. The popular and high-octane franchise, which covers a massive range of off-road disciplines, by the looks of the tantalisingly short teaser, will be influenced by their other more sim-heavy rally experience, the critically acclaimed DiRT Rally.
In the short announcement, the British developers outlined their vision to bring a more authentic and realistic edge to their decade-old series, whilst still maintaining the exhilaration, fun and freedom that made it so successful in the first place.

It will feature classic rallying, FIA World Rallycross Championshop races, and truck and buggy racing, as well as open-events from within the free-roam Joyride mode, all spanning three continents. The most intriguing thing mentioned about DiRT 4 by Codemasters is the new 'Your Stage' system. This seems to somehow create unique rally courses on the fly, at the press of a button, which can be shared with friends and online foes. It also offers a more expansive and advanced range of options for the experienced rally drivers wishing to create their ideal course. This mode could be a new pillar of the experience of DiRT, if it can be an intuitive system for both beginners and veterans.
PC, PS4 and XB1 users will be able to find out in June 2017.
