Yacht Club Games have confirmed that their retro indie hit Shovel Knight is on its way to Nintendo Switch later this year.
It comes alongside the news that the game will be rebranded as Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, with a price increase in the Spring to reflect the massive amount of content added since the initial release back in 2014.
Those who just want to sample one of the soon-to-be-four campaigns will be able to purchase each one as a standalone game at a discounted price: the original campaign (now renamed Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope) and Plague of Shadows will be available in the Spring, Specter of Torment will arrive in the coming months, and an untitled fourth campaign is currently in development. The upcoming multiplayer battle mode will also be available separately on all platforms except 3DS and Vita.
Those who have already purchased the base game will continue to receive these expansions as free updates.
Other updates to the game have also been announced: a Body Swap mode - switching the genders of the main characters - will launch alongside Specter of Torment, while the two-player co-op gameplay available with the Shovel Knight amiibo on Wii U will be made available to players on all systems.
Shovel Knight is available now on PC/Mac, Wii U, 3DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Amazon Fire TV.
