When a Quentin Tarantino movie opens, it's not so much a film release as a major cinematic event, so this week's Talking Pictures, the audio version of Lights, Camera, Action! puts his new Western, The Hateful Eight, in the spotlight. The show's first Big Interview of 2016, then, doesn't much bigger, because it's with the film's star, Samuel L. Jackson!

Cubed3's resident film critic, Freda Cooper, also takes a look at Australian indie drama, Partisan, and on DVD there's the latest from Craig Roberts, the black comedy Just Jim. There's also a preview of the forthcoming Golden Globe Awards, a major predictor for next month's Oscars.
