Yes, Windows 95 on a 3DS is a Real Thing on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Ever wanted to leap back in time, grab hold of a copy of Windows 95 and run it on 3DS? Well...

Here at Cubed3, we do enjoy dabbling in code and tinkering with all sorts of geeky bits. That's right, tearing up circuit boards and, with fingers crossed, hoping it all works. There are so many peculiar experiments out there, but this one is worth looking into - with one GBATemp member able to get Windows 95 to run on a New Nintendo 3DS XL.

There's still a long way to go before coders can get classic PC games to run on the handheld, but it's a start.

Do you think Windows 95 on a 3DS is useful? What classic PC games owuld you play on the move?

The last I heard, a number of people in the scene had deemed it not really worth the effort it was taking just to print "Hello, world" and that no reliable exploits had yet been discovered. This could definitely suggest otherwise.

Because... region locks... are stupid. Yeah. Region locks. That's why.
