During the Tokyo Game Show this week, Capcom showcased the first direct-feed footage of Monster Hunter Stories in motion.
Designed for the younger adventurer in mind, the new game puts players in the boots of a Rider that heads out to capture monster eggs, which spawn into beasts that can be ridden on and sent into battle. Like its bigger brother, Monster Hunter Stories features a wide range of beasts to battle on the field, however takes on a turned-based approach, perhaps a little like Pokémon in some ways.
Bright, stylised cell-shaded visuals are also on offer, to distinguish the game from the more blood-stained titles in the series.
Monster Hunter Stories will be battling across Japan next year.
