Rare staffer Gregg Mayles has shared more artwork from the creation of Donkey Kong Country, including a look at more animals.
Last week he begun the #DKCrevealed hashtag that included a glimpse of some different ideas for how Donkey Kong could have looked.
The 2D platforming series is well known for its zoo of animals that can be used to overcome obstacles, and it looks like developer Rare was keen to bring a safari's worth of critters into the experience. Mayles shared a look at potential animals that could have made the cut - including an Owl, Fox and Mole.
Some of these #DKCrevealed animal buddies are familiar, but I wonder what names we'd have given the Owl, Mole & Fox? pic.twitter.com/l6VjTgGy96

He also shared a glimpse of early versions of Donkey Kong, plus what looks like the closes ancestors to K. Rool.
And two more early versions of DK, the 3D model must be one of the first. Time for some #DKCrevealed levels next. pic.twitter.com/3MhfYMIRWL

Found a couple more #DKCrevealed Kremling concepts by James Ryman, where Krudd is starting to look like K.Rool. pic.twitter.com/5dDpIWU9Vn
