Animal Crossing 3DS Bundles, NFC Reader

Nintendo has set a date in Europe for the 3DS NFC Reader/ Writer, plus a range of new hardware bundles.

Launching on 2nd October 2015, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer allows players to join Nook's Homes business and help fellow animals by designing their dream shacks, with some going beyond the four walls and into the garden.

The amiibo cards, which have different Animal Crossing characters, will allow players to design homes for each of these characters - sold in packs of three. At launch, a limited number of retail copies will also come with a special card. Each can be used with multiple 3DS consoles, so are ideal for collecting and trading with fellow Animal Crossing: Happy Home players.

Those with New Nintendo 3DS consoles can tap the amiibo cards on the touch-screen, whilst those with standard 3DS/2DS consoles can use a separate NFC Reader/Writer to hook up these cards to the game.

• New Nintendo 3DS cover plates: No. 5 (featuring K.K. Slider), No. 6 (featuring Isabelle) and 27 (featuring a variety of animals from the series).
