The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is heading to the Wii U Virtual Console in Europe.
Originally released in 1998 on Nintendo 64, the first fully 3D Zelda title was critically praised and is still to this day considered one of the greatest games of all time, with a near-perfect Metacritic score.
A GameCube version was released in 2003 alongside The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, containing a remixed "Master Quest" mode which made the game harder for seasoned players. Astereoscopic 3D remake was released in 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS, complete with the Master Quest mode available from the start as well as a Boss Challenge mode.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is available to download in Europe via the Wii U Virtual Console from this Thursday (2nd July). Those who already own the game on the Wii's Virtual Console will be able to upgrade to this edition for a reduced fee.
