A new game in the Metroid franchise has been announced during Nintendo's E3 Digital Event.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force allows players to team up for four-player online or local co-op objective-based missions set in the Metroid Prime universe, taking down foes both new and familiar in enemy-infested bases.
Additionally, the previously announced Blast Ball title that was playable in the Nintendo World Championships is included in Metroid Prime: Federation Force, going by its proper title of Metroid Prime: Blast Ball. This is a futuristic 3 vs. 3 sports game, where players shoot a giant ball into the opponents' goal, much like soccer, and can again be played online or locally.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force is due in 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
