Platforming classic Super Mario Bros. has been inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame.
Launched in 1985 on the NES, Super Mario Bros. has sold 40 million units worldwide and helped launch the careers of a moustached plumber and his lanky brother, cementing Nintendo as a contender in the video game space.
The World Video Game Hall of Fame at the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York recognises games that meet the following criteria: icon-status, longevity, geographical reach and influence.
