How Dolls Work in Xenoblade Chronicles X on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo and developer Monolith Soft have posted a more detailed look of dolls in Xenoblade Chronicles X.

The much anticipated Wii U adventure/RPG game is said to have expansive areas of land and sea to traverse across. Doing so on foot is an option, but it may well take a fair bit of time to stroll from one area of the map to the next. Enter, Dolls, the chunky robot/mech that players can pilot as a means of transport and also a handy weapon.

Th new footage explains just how the Dolls operate, plus just how much ground can be covered with a few button presses.

In a Doll or on foot, how would you take on the Xenoblade Chronicles X landscape?

On foot as much as practically possible. I do not want this to be Mecha, the RPG as I am not a big fan of the Mecha genre.

The difference between illusion and reality is vague to the one who suffers from the former and questionable for the one suffering form the later.

every xeno game features mechas and always have. they are cornerstones of the series.

Ofcourse I know that xD I played Chronicles and was fine with that. But if it gets heavier it enters the doubtable territory. I can only handle so much Mecha before it turns boring and "empty" to me.

that sucks.

personally i think they are tits. nothing more empowering than getting into a fist fight when you are inside of a giant robot that has even BIGGER fists.

Everyone has their cup of tea ^^ And as long as there is possibilities to chose which kind of tea one wants to have so is it all fine! Smilie

You can fly around in mechs and transform them into bikes/cars to drive across the landscape and you still want to walk? What are you smoking? Smilie

I mean I'll still walk around at times, but cruising around in mechs and taking down huge monsters with friends? Yes please.

I simply am not a big fan of big robots. I prefer to see my avatar on the screen interacting with other characters over a big robot. Smilie It is not a make or break issue to me as the game looks wonderful enough for me to oversee that, but I will prefer to be outside of the mecha as much as possible. ^^
