Theatrhythm Dragon Quest Gets Free DLC, Lacks 3D Support on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Folk who want even more content for Theatrhythm Dragon Quest will be able to download free DLC.

Square Enix have confirmed that the next installment in the Theatrhythm series will get heap of additional content as part of the initial asking price. Interestingly, those with Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call have had to pay for DLC content thus far.

Theatrhythm Dragon Quest brings even more musical antics to Nintendo's portable console, with a range of melodies from the popular adventuring series - From soaring overworld themes to raging boss encounters.

In related news, it's been noted on the Nintendo of Japan website how the title doesn't support stereoscopic 3D, an odd move given that the previous Theatrhythm games made use of the effect.

This and Final Fantasy Explorers don't use 3D. Looks like SE wants to put that processing power to use elsewhere and don't want to risk making a game exclusive to the New 3DS. Some games don't have Miiverse support, others don't use 3D. The old 3DS is being pushed to the max Smilie.

Only 2 songs at TFFCC launch were free, and then only 2 more in Japan.

Can only really see this as assuming there will be significantly less DLC for TDQ than has been for the TFF games, and since the base selection in TDQ is only 60+, it's probably justified to make them free. Begs the question why they don't put them on the card already though.

As for 3D, it doesn't help in this game, and can sometimes even throw you off. It's not something that will be missed in TDQ.
