How will Nintendo target marketing going forward? Iwata has answered some concerns from investors.
With the market and consumer habits ever-changing, Nintendo and other game-makers have had to adjust their own campaigns to keep up. Iwata was quizzed by an investor as to whether the company need a shake up in the marketing structure going forward.
Iwata admitted that, despite continuing to focus on TV campaigns, marketing teams are "conscious that they have to change." He outlined recent initiatives to use social media and Nintendo Direct to try new approaches.
He feels that "advertisements that are pushed on consumers are gradually losing their effect," and that Nintendo need to encourage consumers to "retrieve information at their own will."
The game-maker is in the middle of these changes, and Iwata feels that by "completing this transition process will be one of the prerequisites for regaining Nintendo-like profits by the fiscal year ending March 2017."
What do you think Nintendo need to do in order to drive more sales?
