Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata spoke about the performance of Tomodachi Life during the company's financial results briefing.
Iwata confirmed that the global sales-to-date for the unique 3DS title is now at 3.96 million units, highlighting how there has been a steady sales pace in Europe in particular. The sell-through figures for Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life till the end of last year are close, with 1.28 million for Animal Crossing and 1.22 million for Tomodachi Life.
The Nintendo 2DS and the female market in particular has been a key area for the game, with the hardware "attracting young female European consumers to the platform in the year-end sales season."
Iwata also confirmed that sales figures in France have surpassed those in the US.
