Nintendo of America on GameCube Adapter on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo of America have issued a statement on the much sought after GameCube adapter.

It's been a turbulent few weeks of confusing statements from retailers and Nintendo representatives when it comes to refreshing GameCube adapter and amiibo stock.

With holiday season in full swing and Christmas creeping closer, fans have wondered whether Nintendo intend on producing more GameCube adapter stock for eager Super Smash Bros. for Wii U players to get their classic controller fix.

Fortunately, a response from Nintendo of America has confirmed that the GameCube controller and adapter "console remain in distribution in the North American region" and that the company is doing all it can to meet "strong demand."

Additional stock "will be made available delivered to retailers."

Nintendo are urging consumers to contact retailers directly to check availability.

Have you been able to grab a GameCube adapter yet?

I can't seem to find this online in the UK anyway for the price that i should be paying. I really hope it is back in stock soon as i want to be able to buy Smash to get the CD and Mewtwo in time!

I read this then went to see how much was being charged on amazon uk. £149.99 for the adapter! I didn't realize how lucky I was to get my adapter and controllers! Hopefully Nintendo will see it fit to restock them and get them back to the original price of £20.

On another note it seems odd how slowly things are picking back up outside of Japan. Nintendo seems overly focused on the Japanese audience of late, probably why we haven't heard about a new Metroid game yet...

I own all the consoles, ask me anything

Metroid is coming, but probably not until 2016. I'd say Nintendo are busy working on enough games for next year as it is. I reckon Metroid will be another 3DS/Wii U dual game like how Smash Bros is or in the very least how Fusion and Prime were.

I'd like that! Especially if they use it as a reason to build a new prime-esk game and a 2d game.
