Kirby will be rolling onto Wii U next year in a claymation-type world in Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush (Kirby and the Rainbow Curse in North America).
Like the Kirby: Power Paintbrush (Kirby: Canvas Curse) outing on Nintendo DS, players use the stylus on the Wii U GamePad to paint lines across the screen and allow Kirby to roll along them and through each stage, collecting power-ups and items along the way. Tapping his body causes him to bash forward to smash blocks and attack enemies.
The trailer during the Nintendo Direct today revealed a four-player co-op mode. Up to three more people can join in, taking control of Waddle Dees that can move freely and carry Kirby around, allowing the GamePad player to focus on drawing lines to clear paths.
Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush will be available in February 2015 in North America, and in the second half of the year in Europe.
