New Transparent 2DS Consoles Coming to Europe on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo have announced two new variations of the 2DS console, bringing back a classic handheld style.

Remember the days of portable consoles with transparent shells? To celebrate the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire on 28th November in Europe, the company will be launching new 2DS colours. Both will be transparent in design in the front and back, with opaque side panels.

The bundles include:

  • Nintendo 2DS Transparent Red + Pokémon Omega Ruby includes: a Nintendo 2DS Transparent Red system plus a copy of Pokémon Omega Ruby pre-installed on a 4GB memory card.

  • Nintendo 2DS Transparent Blue + Pokémon Alpha Sapphire includes: a Nintendo 2DS Transparent Blue system plus a copy of Pokémon Alpha Sapphire pre-installed on a 4GB memory card.
There'll also be a demo version to be made available at GAME, Amazon, Smyth Toys, ShopTo and the Nintendo UK Official Store from 15th October until launch.

Oh damn, now I wish the New 3DS XL would come out our way in transparent too since that's my next one, but I know that such a colour, if it ever happens, won't make the launch and I know already that I won't be able to wait XD.

The first transparent console I remember having in my hands was a transparent black & white Game Boy, the large one. I thought that was the coolest thing ever at the time ☺ !! I never owned one myself but my best mate back then did so, I had the regular grey one (I still have it too!)
