Final Fantasy Explorers will come with a free download code for a stereoscopic 3D version of the original NES Final Fantasy for early buyers in Japan.

A month after the release of Square Enix's hunter-like RPG, the 3D Final Fantasy will release on the eShop for everyone to purchase.

First print copies will also receive Onion Knight equipment from Final Fantasy III.

As well as these bonuses, Square Enix has announced that a demo of the game will arrive on the 3DS eShop before the game's release on 18th December. Known as Final Fantasy Explorers Light, it will allow the opening parts of the game to be played in single and local or online multiplayer.

Yes Sir. I may be one of the only ones to beat the original nes Final Fantasy, but now im glad a new generation will be able to enjoy the game like i did as hard as it was. Plus i really hope we get this game, the DLC, the demo, and the  possible collector edition cd music when it comes out. Man im ready to pre order right now!!!

Really bizarre that once again, despite FF having a huge history of success in the west, Square-Enix followers are back at a point where they genuinely never can be sure if a game will even be localised or not.

It's pretty crappy to be honest. I know FF hasn't been all that amazing lately but sometimes it's the side games like Explorers that give me the most fun, and I absolutely would not say no to a pretty free 3D FF1.

Hardly any FF games, spin-offs included, don't get localised. This game will come West, guaranteed.

I suppose that's true, I just wish we didn't have to wait so long for localisation confirmations most of the time. Even Tales games have been getting better at announcing localisations before or on Japanese release, why can't Square?

I hope FF1 3D comes west too.

I guess so. Let's hope things get a bit better and faster on that front, but I wouldn't worry. Just gotta be a bit more patient with SE unfortunately. It's nothing we aren't used to. I wouldn't expect an announcement of FF Explorers coming West just yet, either. They'll probably wanna manage that game a while after release to ensure it goes smoothly with its online and stuff. It'll come here eventually, though. I don't think there should be any doubts.
