Renegade Kid Receives Rights to Dementium on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Renegade Kid has now received rights to continue the critically acclaimed Dementium series.

With two previous games on DS and a PC port, the studio had been dealing with the rights to the series; and after some time perusing the franchise, are now able to create Dementium sequels if they wish. The first game of the pair, released back in 2007, featured immersive 3D environments as a first-person horror/survival shooter for Nintendo DS.

Are you a fan of Dementium - would you like to see a sequel/remake?

Awesome this is GREAT news, I loved the first 2 & am thrilled at the prospect of another freaky entry on 3DS!!

Only tried the first one and while it was fairly impressive in the early stages of the game, the locales ended up looking always the same with little variety and the same objects re-used to death, the map system seemed completely broken and useless, which didn't help, and the whole game wasn't all that interesting to me in the end. But a fairly impressive show of the power of the DS to provide a decent first person horror game nonetheless. Just not very inspired IMHO.

Never played the second one but I do hope they managed to improve on that at least and that if another game is made out of it (and seeing the trouble they went through to get the rights to do so, I'd be surprised if they didn't put out a new game!!) that they'd further improve on what they did in the past! I'm not big on "Moon" for 3DS but if they made an enhanced remake of Dementium for 3DS or even better yet an all new game, now THAT's something I'd want to see happen so I can sample it and hopefully I'll b be hooked on it more than I was with the first game!

Yeah that's true about the first Dimentium game unfortunately. The second one offered more variety ranging from prison, mental institutions, a log cabin surrounded by snow ext. My only gripe with D2 is that was far too short. Th3y definitely improved the monster character models & locals but the over all gameplay felt much shorter....also it ended with a "DUN DUN DUUUUUN" to be continued cliff hanger that practically said they'll make a Dimentium 3 heh.

Fortunately with better hardware the 3DS offers should provide better settings & more controled enemy respawn. I hope the dev team visits C3 every now & again because as soon as the third Dimentium is announced I'll be placing my preorder!! XD
