Amiibo Launching This Year with First Twelve Figures Revealed on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo will launch its amiibo figures this year, with the first twelve characters revealed.

The full list of characters included in the first wave are: Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Fox, Link, Samus, female Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Kirby, Pikachu and Marth.

Whilst Pit and Bowser have been shown in the past, they will no doubt be part of the second batch of amiibo figures.

In North America, each character will retail for $12.99, with the first compatible amiibo game being Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Yoshi's Woolly World, Mario Kart 8 and Mario Party 10 will also utilise the figures, and the New Nintendo 3DS system has a feature to recognise them, too.

I want to buy all them and have them one display.

Yet the packaging also looks cool and I almost feel like it would be a crime to remove them from their original packaging.

Gotta buy 'em all! Smilie

Chance favors the prepared mind.

Definitely getting Link, Fox, Marth and probably Mario and Yoshi! Expecting a pricepoint of around £10-£15 here in the UK, hopefully £9.99.

Mario and link for definite, Samus possibly. Really hope Sonic and Mega Man are in wave 2!

....but what do they do...

Give me a proper reason to buy more than one. I only main with Kirby (of course i play with other characters) but I really don't see the reason to actually get them all...

I'm not a huge figurine fan, so as with Flynnie I'd need a decent reason to pick some up.

already per ordered all of them........ help me

Even though Right now these things do nothing...and will do very little when they actually function I still can't help want the Fox and Samus amiibos.

i don't get this fad...is it me getting old? I just don't get what infinity/skylanders toys do? Apart from cause clutter these things are essentially unnecessary...I'd rather just pay £10 for a quality piece of merchandise...

I really hope nintendo give more clarification on what these actually do in the next few months...
